Buy with confidence scheme

Buy With Confidence lists approved traders who provide high standards of customer service and deal promptly with complaints. 

Approved traders are vetted before they join and agree to:

• Ensure staff are properly trained for their work
• Respond promptly and correctly to customer complaints
• Get Criminal Records Bureau clearance for all staff who carry out work in people’s homes.
  

In addition, Trading Standards provide a mediation service if there is a dispute that cannot be resolved between the parties concerned. The scheme is run by East Sussex County Council Trading Standards.

Trading Standards

East Sussex County Council Trading Standards Service provide advice and protection for both businesses and consumers within the county.

Their services include:

1. Enforcing Government legislation
2. Offering advice to consumers via Consumer Direct
3. Providing advice and inspections for businesses
4. Dealing with customer complaints and trade enquiries
5. Investigating offences and prosecute offenders.
